Interesting words for a changing climate. Ask anyone about being an entrepeneur, and you will hear the same word in some shape or form: Dedication!. The picture above was taken at Russell Simmons' book signing for Do You! 12 Laws to Success. I remember after his discussion, it came down to the actual book signing and as it would happen I didnt have it. So I ran down the escalator, grabbed the book off the display, ran back up the escalator to the back of the line waiting for my chance to meet Russell. Once again, I was at a loss because in my mind, I came unprepared. I am an MC, poet, former radio personality from a college radio station and I had nothing to show for it. Once I got up to meet him, I had a bit a nervousness in my voice and I swear on everything I didn't want to come off like a groupie but he is responsible for so much in Hip Hop. That picture that you see there is a testament to the beginning of great things. I read the book and I loved it. Shit, he was so brutally honest that it got to the point of me kicking myself in my own ass. So now, I don't care if I'm called any bad name that's not my government, but I will do what I can to the fullest. Self-promotion baby, do it til I lose it!
